Restoring Forests. Rebuilding Futures.

PLANT TREES

Growing a Sustainable Future for the Philippines

Founded in 2014 in response to the devastation of Super Typhoon Haiyan, the Leyte Reforestation Project (LRP) is dedicated to restoring degraded landscapes and rebuilding forests across the Philippines. What began as a recovery effort has grown into a forward-thinking initiative focused on long-term environmental sustainability and community resilience.

Through the development of organic, native tree farming techniques and climate-resilient planting methods, LRP is helping restore biodiverse ecosystems while offering practical, scalable solutions for forest restoration. A key part of this mission is education—partnering with students from Visayas State University’s Forestry Program to equip the next generation with hands-on experience in forest landscape restoration.

Our Impact & Focus

  • Restoring degraded land through sustainable reforestation in the Philippines

LRP’s mission is to promote the use of Philippine native plants and empower communities to benefit from restored forests—supporting livelihoods, strengthening ecosystems, and fostering sustainability. With a vision for the future, LRP seeks to inspire a growing movement where forest restoration becomes a vital industry, creating opportunities for Filipinos to build meaningful, sustainable lives connected to the land.
